Abbey Road Outtakes 7 of 6 - 24” x 24” oil on wood board.

The Beatles' final album, Abbey Road, was released on September 26, 1969, featuring an iconic cover photo of the band members walking across a zebra crossing on Abbey Road outside EMI Studios in London.

On August 8, 1969, the Fab Four walked across the Abbey Road zebra crossing, outside EMI Studios in London, where they had spent the majority of their career. Photographer Iain Macmillan had limited time to take the picture due to the busy traffic on the road, so he quickly climbed a ladder to take a series of shots with his Hasselblad camera. He took only six pictures that day.

As an artist, I wanted to capture this historic moment in my own unique way. Using oil on wood board, I reimagined the scene as if I had been there, approaching the front steps of the studio alongside the band. In my painting, I added an additional element to the scene, creating a never-before-seen view of this legendary moment. With this piece, I hoped to pay homage to The Beatles and their timeless album. My painting, Abbey Road Outtakes 7 of 6, measures 24" x 24".
