Herzog’s Arthur Murray, West Hastings, and Cambie Street 1960 - Acrylic and Oil on Canvas - 60” x 48”

Fred Herzog, a German-born photographer, migrated to Vancouver, BC in 1953. He is renowned for his unconventional approach to colour photography during the 1950s and 1960s, a period when art photography was primarily linked with monochromatic imagery. This 60" x 48" acrylic and oil on canvas painting is an adaptation of his 1960 photograph titled "Arthur Murray at Cambie and West Hastings Street" in Vancouver.
